We use a certain amount of hydrogen peroxide for emergency cuts, scrapes and bruises. Occasionally, we use it for cleaning the ears. My main use is as a mouthwash. It really does a job on bacteria, one of the causes of gingivitis. Plus, although I dislike the mild taste, it gives the mouth a clean fresh feeling. I find that if I rinse after my evening brushing, my mouth tastes fresh and clean in the morning. A good feeling.Hydrogen peroxide is hydrogen peroxide and it really doesn't matter what the brand is. My last brand was Smart. This time the store had Swan brand. My peroxide is a 3% solution, the same as this product, and it came in a 16-ounce dark plastic bottle (to prevent deterioration by light) whereas this one is 8 ounces. Otherwise, there's no difference. Every household should have a bottle on hand and it's one of those things that is real inexpensive.
