American Red Cross Disaster & Emergency Kit by First Aid Only

American Red Cross Disaster & Emergency Kit by First Aid OnlyThe package arrived right on time. The front of the bag is different than pictured, but that's not a big deal. The bag itself is much smaller than I had imagined. The photo makes it look like a stand-up, small duffle, when it's actually a binder. There are pages that hold all the products (as pictured). I appreciate how organized it is, and that everything is individually wrapped I had a hard time finding what's in it, exactly, so here goes... (I'll group it the way it's grouped inside)

This kit contains:

I added a few products that I felt were lacking, such as an extra roll of paper tape (1 inch wide), a roll of transpore tape, some tegaderm patches, and extra ibuprofen/acetaminophen. I also bought a box of gloves and I'm going to put the kit and extra stuff in a bigger duffle so it will all be together. I will probably add a few more things, as I think of them... I was thinking of buying additional antibiotic ointment, and some anti-itch cream and an ACE bandage.

Overall, this is a great first aid kit. I work with the youth and need a portable kit for both classroom and camp settings; this will do just fine!

I'm taking off one star for the pictures because they're slightly deceiving, and for the fact that I couldn't find ANYWHERE what the kit contains. Also because there are some things that should have more (such as medications, gloves, gauze, and antibiotic ointment)

I have a degree and training in nursing, so I'm adding to this kit to make it very thorough!

Hope this review helps!

Started to become a bit of a nervous nelly with all the earthquakes a few months back, so decided it was time to make sure I had a decent first aid kit, just in case. I compared multiple options, but decide that this kit was the best compromise between what you would practically need/use, while also being prepared.

The only thing this kit was lacking was some saline solution and a flashlight, which I purchased separately. It comes well packaged and doesnt take up a lot of room to store.

Keep in mind things like pain killers etc have a use-by date. The use-by dates varied quite a bit in my pack, so I would recommend checking this when it arrives. Probably a good idea to check it yearly after that to make sure you keep everything current and stocked.

I just received two of these and immediately saw that the item sent to me is not the item in the picture on amazon! Clearly the photo on amazon is the American Red Cross Emergency kit, which is the one i have at work and wanted to purchase for my truck and my house.

The official American Red Cross emergency kit has very helpful pages of basic first aid instruction as well as a much sturdier case. The knockoff first aid kit i was sent does not have the first aid information and the case is of poorer quality. As for the individual items i'd have to take them all out and compare them.

Clearly the company is misrepresenting their product and passing it off as an official American Red Cross emergency kit. Beware!

My son-in-law is seriously into sports, works at a hospital and is studying to be a Phys Ed teacher/coach. I bought this for him for Christmas after he put his tooth through his cheek and another guy's forehead while playing basketball! It will come in handy! I looked at LOTS of first aid kits in the stores and online and this one was the most comprehensive kit I found for the price. It includes plenty of items that work well for sports-related injuries but also includes roadside emergency and survival supplies. There are zippered plastic compartments in a binder format within the compact soft-sided case that help organize things and allow for more items than other kits I looked at. I feel confident that this product will serve him well. It's a great all-purpose kit that would be an excellent addition to any family's home or car for those unexpected events.
