Adventure Medical Kits Tinder-Quik

These work great. I usually make my own tinder from cotton balls or jute twine, with petroleum jelly or wax added, but sometimes I like to add something new to my pack. These were a little expensive for what you get, considering that I can make my own tinder for about a nickel each.

Anyway, these work, and if you don't mind the cost, just buy a couple of packs and throw them in your bug out bag.

Took me a few minutes to get these working but I figured it out. Take one end of the tinder-quik and fray it open as much as possible. Then shoot your spark into the frayed end, it will light up very easily. If you just throw sparks at it, it will not ignite. You can also cut it into much smaller pieces and then take those pieces and rip them up into a small pile and ignite that easily. It makes these 12 last much longer.

I used to be an avid Burt's Bees user until it started irritating my lips. I came upon this product by chance several years ago. We had just moved into a house that had a wood stove in it and I had two small boys. My concern was that they would touch the stove when hot and get a small burn. As we all know, small or large burns are very painful.

This product is great to use with amerigel wound dressing on a burn. I had a very bad chemical burn on my chin for two weeks before I found this product. Applying amerigel on the wound and covering it with this moist pad overnight helped heal the burn almost completely. Now if there was something to cure the peeling... i have an interview tomorrow!

I wish they came with more burn pads. On Saturday, I got a second degree burn on my arm (on my elbow joint it really hurts). Anyway, I apply a new one of these burn pads daily. It really stings when I put them on but once I apply a nexcare wrap to it, it feels much better. These burn pads are helping my second degree burn heal nicely.

Scissors: 5.5" Lister Bandage- Half Black

I ordered these scissors because everyone else at the Vet hospital I work at has plain silver ones so I wanted mine to be different enough so if I misplaced them, I would easily be able to identify them. The handles are a nice smooth black color and the bandage scissors cut easily, for the most part. They feel sturdy in my hands. the only reason I won't give them a 5 is because of the cutting. They are sharper down near the ends, but when I have to cut catheter tape on a big dog and try to cut the whole thing at once (I like to see the blunt tip coming out of the other side of the wrapped tape, 2-4 inches of Zonas tape) I have a hard time with the cutting closest to the inside of the scissors. They aren't quite as sharp as the ends. Other than that they work great :)

i love the fact that the handles are black, making them unusual. however there is a very rough area on the scissors that i received. it was purchased as a gift, so a bit disappointed. it was shipped quickly. sharp enough for gauze dressings.

I have been looking for a product like this for awhile but did not really want a bracelet. This key is so easy to carry and really stands out as a medical device. I did some research on first aid kits to find one for my car. I originally thought I would have to build a kit on my own because I couldn't find one that had everything you would need for a real emergency--until I found this. This kit has stuff for small injuries and for large emergencies. My husband is a certified EMT and uses this kit when he is off work. I bought it thinking it would be a great thing to have for my accident-prone children, but my husband soon took it because he liked it so much. We have used it for small "boo-boo's" and for when my husband splashed gas into his eyes ~don't ask. Thankfully, we haven't used it for a big emergency, but it gives great comfort knowing that we are prepared if anything should happen.

I highly recommend this for every day parents who might need it for any accidents.

If you are a medically-trained professional, this kit needs some "extras" to make it complete. I added a stethoscope, BP cuff, pen light, and lots more plastic gloves, but that was all. The kit has a few empty pockets and these "extras" fit perfectly. The kit is relatively small in size and doesn't take up much space in my car, or wherever you plan to store it. Overall, a great buy and worth having for any situation.

I have the unfortunate honor of having some very strange hair. It is part curly, part straight, part wavy, part kinky and it gets frizzy! This stuff tamed the kink and frizz by adding much needed moisture but my hair was not left feeling weighed down and greasy. It has body and bounce and blows freely in the wind.

You have to be careful not to use too much though and not to use it every day. A trick I learned is to brush it in thoroughly after making sure to apply it to the roots and not on top of the hair (especially after shampooing) to make sure that the roots and the hair shaft are well saturated and then let it air dry and style and all is well.

I use it every 2 or 3 days and in between I just spray my hair with some leave-in conditioner by Motions and that seems to do the trick. I also sometimes use a product by Hawaiian Silky called 411 which is a combined leave-in conditioner and curl definer.

I just can't get past the smell. My sense of smell is very sensitive so this product isn't for me.

Brown Recluse First Aid Kit

I can't speak to the lateness of shipping, as stated by the other reviewer, but the product is fine. It is a standard sharps container, and economically priced. Why pay more for the same thing from other companies? If it comes sealed, it is easy to open it again. They can be re-opened once closed. I have purchased many of these and use a more expensive brand at work. They are exactly the same. I use it for insulin syringes. I will continue to purchase this brand.

Container is ok but not particularly secure. I think BD product is better but of course more than twice the price. Also not much of a bargain when you add shipping unless you by large quantity. I bought two and shipping was still almost 4 times the purchase prices. Live and learn.

Great for me. I am a senior which means that the skin on the back of my hand is delicate (fragile?). I tried using a brand name on the back of my hand. When it came time to remove the bandage, it was darn difficult to remove it had attached itself just like a second skin. I used alcohol swabs and it took me quite a while to remove it making sure I didn't tear off part of my skin in the process. So, I looked around in Amazon.COM and found this bandage. Was I pleasantly surprised. The bandage held on and it took me less than one minute to remove (without using alcohol swabs). And you get 100 bandages. Seems to me that it should work well on hairy areas but I have very little hair on the back of my hand. Perhaps someone else could try it out and submit a review to help out others. Five stars.

It you don't mind a non-flexible adhesive outer strip, this bandaid is for you (taking price into consideration). The bottom line is that it gets the job done. PS For even better wear, I wrap cellophane tape over the bandaid.

We bought these band-aids the 100 pack and i have to say they do not live up to the general expectations of a typical band-aid. 1. Under the description it says change daily, OH you will have to change them daily because these lucky brand band-aids last only for 24HRS then rip in half. 2. They are NOT Waterproof, if you take them in the shower or wash your hands you will find they will easily come off and you will have to put another one on and so on. 3. The only positive, the pad does not stick to you which makes it so it will not hurt your injury.

Overall experience with this product was horrible and just went with the regular band-aid brand company and have never looked back since!. My advice stay as far away as you can from these if you don't want to go with the hassle of reapplying a new bandage everyday.

Nutribiotic - Ear Drops, 1 fl oz liquid

As someone who tries to treat illnesses naturally whenever possible, I've always sort of felt at the, "mercy" of ear infections even the best anti-bacterial oral remedies never seem to eliminate them, and whenever my children came down with one, I always ended up at the doctor's office to get an antibiotic. My holistically-minded physician actually mentioned that there were some natural drops that could help. D'oh! Why didn't I think to look for a product like that? I went to the health food store and found these they have been a lifesaver for our family!

Recently my daughter had a fairly severe ear infection that came on quickly she was suddenly running a high fever, her ear was in alot of pain, bodyaches, etc. I used these drops in her ear twice during the day after the first application I didn't notice a change, but after the second application, she was completely better within about an hour! It was truly amazing she went from being very hot, curled up in pain on the couch, to running around playing, fever-free, and the infection never returned.

(By the way, I recommend allowing the bottle of drops to sit in some hot water for 5 minutes or so before use because they're pretty thick, & this helps them move more easily, and also because it's more comfortable to have warm drops put into your ear than cold ones!)

One benefit of this product over some others I've used/heard of, is the lack of smell. It doesn't contain garlic, and although it doesn contain a bit of tea tree oil, it's apparently not enough to contribute any scent. Nice & neutral. Who wants to walk around with the concentrated odor of garlic wafting over from their ear all day? :)

I've used this product for my other children, as well, also with great results. And another wonderful use of this product, since it is anti-bacterial, is as a topical antibiotic in place of something like Neosporin. I've had great success with using it that way, as well.
