Headache RelieverTM

Headache RelieverTMUnlike what others have said (yes, I read all the reviews, good and bad, so I knew what I was getting), I LIKE this product. I was looking for a headache relief product that I could use for my migraines and my sinus headaches that I could use with heat (which I believe helps them better) and that I could wear on my head that would not fall off.

This product was made for that purpose. I just turned it around so that the heating pads that you insert were in the front, no problem. And as far as the "crackling noise" complaint of one person once you tighten the wrap securely on your head, there is no crackling noise no matter how you turn your head even if you lie down with it on (because I tested it out thoroughly to make sure).

However, the pads that came with it don't seem to stay very warm when heated up in the microwave for only 20 secs at a time, so I may experiment with making small buckwheat hull pads to insert which seem to hold heat for longer period of time.

I'm still planning on keeping the wrap though because its very convenient for lying in bed when you want to lie on your side and sleep when you are not feeling well, or if you just have to do things but still have a sinus headache and have to keep going.

I have suffered from migraines for so long that I will not let them stop me from doing work I need to do, I just endure the pain. The wrap will help me endure less pain while I work when I have a migraine or sinus headache. It is a blessing.

When I read that this was invented by a NASA scientist and leading neurologist ho specializes in the treatment of severe headaches I decided to give it a try. It's a fairly simple product, I could just use my own ice packs at home, but it's convenient to have it all strapped in, and from what I understand, it's the slight pressure of having it wrapped around your head that helps get the results. And the results are there! I'm usually hesitant about taking over the counter medications for headaches, because I'd be taking them every day, but not with this, I get back from work, put it on for a bit and I'm good to go. Love it! I wish they had different colors, that's the only suggestion I have.

I have suffered from headaches my whole life. This works great and relieves my headaches, without having to take pills. I highly recommend it.

Headache RelieverIt actually works really good because I can move around and do thing without it slipping. I am really happy with it except for the fact that the cold packs only stay cold for roughly 20-30 minutes and sometimes are too cold at first because I freeze mine. I bought an extra 3 pack of inserts and I just switch them out every 30 minutes and it works out fine! Overall I would recommended it to anyone who suffers from headaches and finds that cold therapy and pressure therapy works for them. I like that I can adjust the pressure of the band too. Sometimes I like it loose but other times the constant pressure helps along with the cold. I haven't tried it with the packs hot but I'm sure it would be good that way too!

I could have invented this. Terrific for when you have a migraine or feel one coming on. I have had the occipital nerve block shots where you get shots to the back of your skull to numb the pain and this helps to create that sensation. No more wrestling with holding an icepack in place. Cons are it doesn't stay cold much longer than an hour, luckily the packs only need about 20 min. to cool down. Also, when adjusting the velcro just stick a finger in your ear if you have a serious migraine for that brief second. Ugh. For the life of me I have no idea who would want their head to be hot during a migraine attack but that is also an option, that would make my head want to explode. I don't think I could still not use medication, but I think it is a great assistance during an attack.

This is not available in stores in USA so was delighted to find it online.

This is the stuff they use in British hospitals to help combat staph infections.

You dilute with warm water and bathe wounds.

Very economical to use as you only use about a capful or less.

I add a few drops to my regular hand washing liquid (Dr.Bronners) instead of using those nasty antibactertial soaps. I put a capful in a spray bottle of water to use to disinfect items when cleaning.

Wonderful stuff!!

This stuff is a must for golfers, farmers, gardners or anyone that gets tired of those pesky gnats. Rub a little bit on your neck, ears, ankles and the bill of your hat. You McNess lovers that know what I'm talking about and have used McNess for this purpose and have finally ran out then get this stuff, it's a direct replacement and smells the same. Smells like what the doctors office smelled like 30-40 years ago. I have also smelled something similar used around horses to help them with gnats and flies.

AOKI A1520 Transparent Dressing With Label 6' x 8' 10 per Box -- Compare to 3M Tegaderm 1628WI used the smaller size of window dressing a couple of years ago, this larger thin film transparent dressing works exactly same as the smaller one. Sterile, waterproof, easy to monitor wounds, and easy to apply. Nothing to complain, I recommend it to anyone who needs large dressings.

Homeopathic Accident and Emergency First Aid Kit

Homeopathic Accident and Emergency First Aid KitThis kit contains 18 of the most common remedies in pillule form; meaning there are 18 bottles of little round sugar globules (pills) approximately 35 to a bottle.

These remedies can treat PEOPLE (homeopathy treats people, and/or animals, NOT diseases) with many common acute dis-eases (colds, flu, stomach upset, bumps, bruises, insect bites and stings, childhood acute dis-eases like earaches, conjunctivitis, itchy rashes, etc., etc.)

If you are not an educated lay or professional homeopath, you MUST do some study before using any homeopathic remedies because homeopathy does not work like any other form of medicine; it is not herbology or essential oils or flower essences or nutrition... it's completely different than any other form of conventional or alternative medicine, even though some of the remedy names may look familiar. You must understand that difference to use homeopathic remedies safely and effectively. It does not appear that this kit comes with a handbook of any kind, and even if it did, I recommend you also purchase a couple of books.

The first book I always recommend is Impossible Cure by Amy Lansky, PhD, a former NASA scientist (Impossible Cure: The Promise of Homeopathy). I recommend it for understanding the fundamental principles of homeopathy so you can understand how homeopathy differs from conventional medicine and therefore understand how to use it safely and effectively. Besides it's a very good read.

Then after fundamental philosophy and principles, when you are first starting out as a lay homeopath for yourself or your family, you need a prescribing guide. The one I most commonly recommend is Homeopathic Self-Care by Robert Ullman, ND, and Judith Reichenberg-Ullman, ND (Homeopathic Self-Care: The Quick & Easy Guide for the Whole Family). Many people like The Complete Homeopathy Handbook by Miranda Castro (The Complete Homeopathy Handbook: Safe and Effective Ways to Treat Fevers, Coughs, Colds and Sore Throats, Childhood Ailments, Food Poisoning, Flu, and a Wide Range of Everyday Complaints). Both books are good, all authors very well qualified, I just prefer the layout of the Ullman book. If I were just beginning, I would probably purchase both and see which one worked best for me; they are quite inexpensive.

This kit is a very good value. $55/18 bottles = $3.05 per bottle. Most health-food stores in the US have individual remedies currently retailing between $5 and $12, or so. From the packaging, I am guessing this remedy is produced by Helios Homoeopathic Pharmacy, if so, there's no better or more reputable supplier.

I have a couple of complaints about this kit. The first complaint is that it's too small. 18 remedies are not really enough, even for common self-care. For instance, the book Homeopathic Self-Care discusses over 50 different remedies. But you have to start somewhere and most people start by getting a book and then going down to the health-food store and buying a remedy or two. This is 18 times better than one and much, much cheaper than acquiring your pharmacy one remedy at a time! By the way, the remedies in this kit are selected specifically for treating accidents and emergencies which changes the remedy inventory somewhat from an average self-care kit, but still my complaint about it being too small stands.

My other complaint, perhaps it would be more accurate to say "my other concern" is that the remedies in this kit are 200c potency, which may be because this is an accident and emergency kit. But still, 200c or even 200x is bordering on a potency that only a professional or very well educated lay homeopath should use. If that's not you, please choose to get a kit in potencies no higher than 30c potency. Other common potencies safer for newbies to use are 6x, 6c, 12x, 12c, 30x, and of course 30c.; there are other potencies available, especially outside of the USA, that might differ, but as long as you stay at or below 30 you will be in safer territory to begin your practice of homeopathic self-care. Here's a couple of other kit options from this same seller in the same line (Helios, I assume) 18 Remedy Homeopathy Kit and even better 36 remedies 36 Remedy Homeopathy Kit. Other remedy manufacturers, pharmacies and brands make similar kits too, some are available retail and may also be available here on Amazon. It is, however, unusual to find Helios remedies available in the US and I highly recommend them.

Oh, and one more thing. You don't have to believe in homeopathy for it to work as long as you use it according to its principles. Most internet discussions about homeopathy are very polarized either for or against; you can see that evidenced in the reviews of this very product. Another example is that Professional Homeopaths consider Wikipedia's entry on homeopathy very biased against and have tried over and over for many years to edit it to something more balanced, but editing on the homeopathy entry is not allowed by The-Powers-That-Be behind the scenes at Wikipedia. My recommendation is to get a little bit of education on the way to use homeopathy, by homeopathy proponents obviously, and then try a few times to treat a few different acute dis-eases and see what you think for yourself.

I've traveled with this kit for about ten years.. It's light weight and small size make it convenient for travelling and it contains the highest quality remedies. It's come in handy a number of times. As noted in other reviews, you do have to have a basic knowledge of homeopathy to make use of it.

Many professional homeopaths find that between 50-100 of the most commonly used homeopathic remedies will suffice in the majority of cases. However, for the newbie, or as a gift for a friend or yourself, this would be a great selection. In a clinch and the immediacy of the moment, anyone can try the aconite for shock, the arnica for a black and blue, the apis for bee sting, arsenicum for food poisoning, belladonna for sudden fever, bryonia for dry cough, calendula to sooth the skin, cantharis for sunburn, cargo veg for the person who needs fanning and desires air, china to recuperate after a flu and feeling weak, gelsemium for anxiety before going to the dentist, hypericum for nerve pain after hitting their finger, ignatia for loss and grief, ipecac for nausea with a clean tongue, phosphorus for acute bleeding, pulsatilla for those yellow discharges, and silica for splinters as recorded in 200 years of documentation from physicians and medical healers around the world. These homeopathic remedies approved by USDA pharmacopoeia are over-the-counter self help and in severe chronic cases dispensed by experienced and well trained practitioners.

It would serve the customer well to make this a life long study. The remedies have far reaching potential. These small pellets are not simply water, they have been manufactured under the highest standards in supervised laboratories with the greatest care to potentize and dilute the original substance, so they are gentle acting on the organism and do make wonderful gifts to loved ones.

E6 Bloodstop (EA)

E6 BloodstopI agree with the other positive reviews.

Every household should have several boxes of these, and also keep some in the car.

I have now used bloodSTOP multiple times on two different applications.

First, my daughter frequently gets bloody noses. The problem with using tissue paper is that a hard scab forms inside the nose, and it's easy for the scab to break/peel and bleed again. Using bloodSTOP rolled up inside the nose and putting pressure on the nostril for 30 second, the bleeding stops immediately. My daughter no longer is fearful of blooding noses and she's confident that the product works every time.

The second application was my niece scraping her elbow when she tripped on the ground. Having a scab on the elbow is difficult to heal due the frequent bending of the elbow. We used the bloodSTOP on her wound, and then after several minutes, we wet the excess material and gently scrape it off. The main portion of the bloodSTOP coagulates and becomes like a second skin to the below no hard/breakable scap. The best part is that ths product actually IMPROVES healing. I'm not sure how/why it works, but it actually made the elbow heal BETTER than with traditional medicine and/or band-aid. From now on, bloodSTOP is the first product that I use to control any bleeding or open wound.

P.S. "One Stop bloodSTOP" on Amazon has the best prices and free shipping(for Amazon Prime).

They should start calling this thing INSTANT BloodSTOP! I took a tumble a few days ago on my bike riding down the trail; I was a bloody mess. A couple superficial scrapes on my elbows were bad but one particularly deep gash on my right leg was bleeding like crazy...I slapped a piece of BloodSTOP on there and after 20-30 seconds the bleeding stopped! As someone always staying physically active (and hurting myself) I cannot recommend this product more. Every athlete, school, and worried mom needs some of this stuff in their first aid kits. Hopefully you never need to use it but gosh darn it is effective! Step aside Band-aid, BloodSTOP is the everyday remedy of the 21st century!!

I experience severe nosebleeds due to my genetic disorder HHT, (Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia). My nosebleeds can last from several minutes up to an hour. Bloodstop was true to its name. Within minutes, the hemmorhaging terminated and I was able to resume my activities. I recommend Bloodstop to all who suffer from severe nosebleeds.

For lacerations (just the top later of skin, mainly capillaries are destroyed and bleeding), this product should be just fine. If it's a deeper wound, it may bleed beyond the capabilities of the Bloodstop pads. They become a clear gelllatin when wet by either water or blood. The gelatin does form a covering over the wound, but if the wound continuous to build pressure, will bleed through the gelatin covering.

Also, removal of the bloodstop was a bit difficult as it required some rubbing of the sound site to remove the gelatin after it has dried a bit.

Natural Essentials Ouch-eez, 32-CountI found these really randomly on Amazon while searching for something else. I was super happy. They are in a nice little travel pack and fit easily in a small diaper bag. I got to use them the day I received them. We were visiting my brother and my daughter was playing outside...sure enough, she went down. I pulled these out and rubbed it on the cut. It was great to have in a pinch because I didn't have to worry about my brother having first aid stuff.

Johnson & Johnson First Aid Hurt-Free Wrap (2-Inch), 1-Count Rolls

Johnson & Johnson First Aid Hurt-Free Wrap 2 Inch, 1-Count RollsJohnson & Johnson First Aid Hurt-Free Wrap is a superior product. I tried and did not like two different generic wraps. The generic wraps would stay in place, but they were difficult to work with.

Amazon's pricing of the Johnson & Johnson product is the best I could find. They had better pricing than the generic wraps found in super-stores and drug stores.

I have very sensitive skin and any type of adhesive will remove skin from my legs. By using this "Hurt-Free Wrap", I am able to bandage diabetic ulcers with out have to use adhesive tape to attach bandages.

I don't know who developed this product, but I will be forever grateful to them. It looks ugly and you almost wonder if it will even work, but it absolutely does!

This is a sort of "tape" or bandage that is lightweight and sticks to itself without glue or any type of adhesive, except the wrinkled surface of the material itself. Now, there are some important things to know if you want to make the most of this product, so please note the following:

1) There are 3 or 4 "grades" or stiffness/thickness levels you can buy. The thinnest material is softest and clings to itself best, but the thickest, heavy-duty product is great for large wounds or giving you a very nice thick pad.

2) This is NOT a one-piece does it all sort of product. I use it on areas such as my legs, arms, toes, or ankles that tape just doesn't want to stick to. It is great for holding a gauze bandage in place. So, you sort of "layer" your bandaging, like this: put a non-adhesive plain old (sterilized, hospital quality) gauze pad or wrap on the wound. I add a dab of antibiotic gel, which helps hold the gauze in place. Don't use any tape -the purpose of this is to avoid additional skin tears, which tape will produce. Once the gauze is on the wound, wrap the gauze with a couple layers of the Hurt-Free Wrap. In some cases it tends to peel up or not hold together well, so I add a strip or two of plain old white waterproof bandage tape, just where the Wrap meets the layer underneath. This always holds everything together nicely -and there is no need to put any tape or adhesive on the skin at any point!

3) You need to gently pull and stretch the wrap as you wrap it around your leg or arm or whatever; this makes it stick to itself better. But BE CAREFUL not to pull it too tightly! It can easily get too tight, reducing the flow of blood almost like a tourniquet. Not good! Just keep it snug, and avoid wrinkles or places where the wrap is not smooth. You can always go back and unwrap it a bit and try again, but after a couple of attempts, it tends to start losing its stretch/cling quality. So find the balance between too tight and all messy and constricted or wrinkled.

4) That's about it. I change my bandage about every 2-3 days just to keep the wound clean, and always gently cleanse the wound with hydrogen peroxide and/or rubbing alcohol, so germs don't get a chance to slow down the healing.

I have a condition called lymphedema, which causes my legs to swell quite a lot. Even when I wear compression stockings, there are times when a scratch or insect bite will set off an infection. If this happens, don't try to "heal thyself..." Just let a doctor check for infection, and follow the professional's instructions. NOTE: I am not a doctor, nor do I work in the medical industry for for Johnson & Johnson, so I am not qualified to give any medical advice. All I know is, this wrap leaves my occasional wounds dry, clean, and free from adhesive which would almost certainly tear the skin when the bandage is removed.

This product can usually be found in the drug store near the ACE bandage area, but it is not an ACE bandage! I honestly believe my wounds heal about 50% faster when I use the "system" described above. The product can be cut and shaped as needed, but leave plenty for it to stick to itself, and then trim off any extra. And here's sending you every blessing for fast healing, good health, and long, active life.

I have tried various wraps and bandages both for support and medical wrapping. This brand does not stick to itself as well as other brands and tends to come loose. I have had to use actual medical tape around the last wrapping to hold it in place. I'm pretty disappointed, considering this is such a well-known brand name.

With failing lungs even having quit smoking seventeen years ago, the use of a my power cart is the only way to be mobile within my home. The burning of energy used in a wheel chair effort is prohibitive due to oxygen levels falling into danger zones. Our home sits on the sand dunes of Florence, Oregon and all of our seven exit thresholds are built very close to ground level as there is great drainage in sand. Still most of these openings have from an inch up to two and a half inch drop to the concrete patios or sidewalks on the exterior sides with the interiors all level with the interior flooring.

To provide a smooth negotiable passage for my power cart, I purchased a 1 1/2 inch high side x 56 inch wide and 15 inch ramp width. A door on the opposite end of the home required a smaller ramp 1-1/4 inch high side x 42 inch wide and 10 inch ramp width.

These units are made from rubber bi-products such as worn tires and are extremely heavy and somewhat stiff. I was very concerned these items remain flat during shipping in order to avoid any bend or twist that could possible remain permanently. I was pleasantly surprised when UPS delivered these packaged in a single package sitting side by side in a heavy cardboard and taped professionally with a strong tape. Their total weight being about 60 or70 seventy pounds. Once opened and separated I sat in almost complete disbelief, of the awesome quality and workmanship needed to produce such fine merchandise.

Placing each on my knees, one at a time, while in my power cart, I delivered them quickly to their respective doorway and each lay perfectly flat. These also have an extremely detailed and non slip embossed reliefs. Also, not to mention, both ends of each ramp are tampered leaving so no edge can be picked up during heavy wind storms we often see here next to the Pacific Ocean.

First glance I felt they were over priced but now that they are in place I feel I receive a great bargain, and the best part of all, my power cart glides with smoothness at both of these doorways.

Yes, I highly recommend these problem solvers. Did I mention they arrived in the exact time frame as advertised.

I will leave a update after my first year using these.
