Adventure Medical Kits Adventure Medical Sportsman Grizzly Kit, 4.75 Ounce

Adventure Medical Kits Adventure Medical Sportsman Grizzly Kit, 4.75 OunceEverything I may possibly need and was looking for in a comprehensive medical kit!!!!

With my military background and volunteer FF/EMT experience, I have the knowledge to put together what I need to create a decent med kit but yet I was still interested in what the civilian market had to offer. I was in search of a kit that I could build out from to meet my needs and purposes. ADMK (Adventure Medical Kits) had really impressed me with their range of products tailored to the professional and lay responder. I was looking for a comprehensive kit that I could add to my personal "Go-Bag" and found that the ADMK Sportsman Grizzly did just that. I was able to pack it in perfectly in my Maxpedition Kodiak pack with plenty of room to spare. What I like about this kit is that it is able to address a multitude of issues from the common headache and upset stomach to traumatic injuries. Anyone can utilize this kit as its contents are conveniently compartmentalized and accompanied with material and instructions to administer what may be needed. The only issue with this product is the price point ($100 +) but with some effort, anyone can find much more competitive prices like I did here on Amazon for roughly $80. I am sure that the next person could put together the exact same contents at a much more reasonable price but ADMK has packaged and assembled such a quality product that I have the confidence that I can hand this kit to the average person and they could provide a "better than basic" level of care based on what is in this kit alone.

FYI: Thanks to ADMK I had just found out that the purchase of a Medical Kit qualifies on the list for approved Health Care "Flex Spending Accounts" purchases! This product and company gets Five stars all day in my book.

Fortunately, I have not had to use this. Having a comprehensive first aid kit gives me peace of mind. This one appears to cover the basics and advanced medical needs.

I was moving cross country and in preparation for that move, I finally needed to invest in some emergency supplies for any potential issue we might encounter on the road. First aid, flat tire, fire, stranded etc... First off, being a Virgo I research everything and always think of the worst case scenario. If you have one in your life count yourself blessed and cursed as they will always be prepared but also drive you crazy at the same time. But think how we feel! :) This purchase was no exception and I debated between this and the next lower model the Bighorn. But you know on the road, you can encounter a lot of troubles... car accidents, assaults in unfamiliar areas, car breakdowns out in the middle of nowhere ie the desert and I wanted to ensure we were prepared for ANYTHING. That is why I went with this model. It was small enough (probably about 3/4 the size of a shoe box) to fit between my driver's seat and the back seat on the floor in my hybrid. It had everything I could need for any emergency on the road for us. It was soft sided. It included items for heavy bleeding. I could use it later in the home or to take with me on hikes when I am out photographing things that could kill me in areas that might be hazardous too. Get the ideas? This, my portable fire extinguisher, flat fix with air compressor, a lot of water and a high powered LED flashlight were planned months ahead of time to take with me on my travel and while those things did not make me totally relaxed, at least I didn't need to worry about those few things. Good purchase, no regrets. You just have to remember to take it with you and be prepared ahead of time with first aid knowledge to make it useful.

Shuang Long Traditional Medicated Oil

Shuang Long Traditional Medicated OilShuang Long oil is a great product. As far as Feng You Jing goes, I would give it 4/5. The scent is a bit flat compared to, say, Gold Medal or Eagle brand, but the actual effectiveness is a bit stronger. It has a long lasting feeling and comes in a bottle plenty big for the average consumer (1.5 fl oz). Would recommend.

Blister Medic by Adventure Medical Kits

Blister Medic by Adventure Medical KitsThis kit is basically a combination Moleskin/Glacier Gel kit. I am just fine with using duct tape for blisters, but the rest of my family isn't on the same page with me on that one. That is where this kit comes in. This kit is great for feet but duct tape is superior on other parts of the body.

I often get some chaffing around my waist or hip and so do the kids. This kit doesn't seem to work for those blisters but duct tape does.

If you have this and duct tape, you can't go wrong...or you can just use duct tape.

I am a newbie hiker and a safety freak. I wanted to be fully prepared for any long trips that my body and feet are not prepared for so I ordered the blister kit. I searched multiple listing and stores to compare products and this is the best that I found. This is the most complete package and everything is precut. I included with my first aid kit more sheets of moleskin and a pair of scissors to round out the potential blister part of my first aid kit.

I went on a 1 week trip to Prague, Vienna, & Krakow walking at least 10 hours a day. Before my trip I bought a new pair of boots and tried to break them in. All went well until Krakow where I got pre-blister hot spots on both feet on my heels, toes, and ball of foot. Before the blisters formed, I used about 1/2 the pack of the moleskin pre-cut pieces and the problem was solved. Vacation saved. I will always have a fresh pack of them around. I think it is worth getting them pre-cut as although there is waste and more expense, I did not carry a pair of scissors with me so its really the only option.

We hike a lot and even with the hiking shoes I get blisters. I usually stick them before the hike. Work great but don't stay on when swimming

Shears; EMT 7.5" Stealth - Tactical Black Finish

Shears; EMT 7.5' Stealth - Tactical Black FinishThese shears work great, clothes cut like they should and make it quick and easy to get patients "trauma naked".

I purchased these to use in the ER after owning a very similar pair. I don't know if these were just not as tightly made, but the cutting isn't as strong as prior, very similar shears i've had before. With a prior pair i could cut a penny. These were not at all capable of that....not that you would be needing to cut pennies....but...Im relying on a great pair considering its a Trauma Level I hospital and will be utilized.

These were not very sharp to begin with and upon initial testing these on some old jeans the scissors snapped in half at the joint. I highly recommend you look elsewhere if you want a quality product.

I carry these every day with a multi-tool and Surefire light. I've had problems in the past with flimsy scissors and have had one set fail. So far, these are the best set that I've had.
